I can only sum up this night of great entertainment in one phrase by "The Dells"... "OH WHAT A NIGHT!!!!" Any one that was there will tell you it was the greatest ever of "Backseat Memories" as Acappella group, "THE EMERALDS" opened the show followed by Cameo Parkway Recording Artists, "THE ORLONS". "The Orlons" singing all their hits from"Wah Watusi", "Don't Hang Up", and concluding their 40 minute set with "South Street". Next came the acapella sensations from Harrisburg, "PASTIME". This being their first time here, but surely not their last, as they will be returning in August for our "2nd Doo Wop Extravaganza #II". Closing out the first half of the show, "LEE ANDREWS & THE HEARTS". This legendary artist brought everyone to their feet with their fast paced foot work on stage.
Followed by an intermission, where "THE ORLONS", "THE EMERALDS" and "PASTIME" greeted their fans and signed CDS & Photos.
"THE DREAMLOVERS" thrilled the crowd with their beautiful ballads, "When We Get Married", "If I Should Lose You" and so many more. Next, a first for both "PASTIME" and "THE EMERALDS" as they entertained together for a 20 minute set of classic hits including, "GLORIA". And finally, the show stopper, "EUGENE PITT & THE JIVE FIVE". "FANTASTIC" is the only thing I can say about them. Opening with "What Time Is It?" and performing for an hour ending with "My True Story" and closing the show by asking everyone to stand up, clap their hands, and Eugene said, "Thanks for the standing ovation" and closed with their version of "SHOUT"! And that they did, leaving the crowd only wanting more.
We would like to thank everyone that attended this great night of "Backseat Memories" and we look forward to seeing everyone at our next show on Saturday, August 17, 2002. Visit our link to "Night of the Stars".

SATURDAY ... MAY 11, 2002 ... 6 PM

For those of you that missed the show, we hope you enjoy our pictures of the memories. And for those of you that were there, we hope you will relive those memories forever. Thank you.

"THE EMERALDS" delighting the crowd from the opening of the doors.

Everyone down on "South Street" was dancing to the "Wah Watusi" with "Mr. Twenty-One".

"PASTIME" making their first Reading area appearance here, will rejoin us again on Aug. 17 at our "Rockin' Doo Woppin' Extravaganza II".

A Philadelphia Legend, "LEE ANDREWS & THE HEARTS" opening his set with a John Connelly tune,"Sweet Soul Music" and performed his classic hits "Long Lonely Nights", "The Clock", "Teardrops", "Try The Impossible" and more taking us to our intermission.

"FANTASTIC" is just one of the many words I can think of to discirbe "THE DREAMLOVERS". It reminds me of a Kenny Loggins song, "Whenever I Call You Friend", there they are! The Dreamlovers have been with me thru thick & thin and finally together they have watched success rise to one of its highest peaks for me. To brothers, Ray & Cliff Dunn, Richard "Charlie" Brown, I can only say one thing, "THANK YOU". And Earl, Get Well Soon!

A true pleasure for both the crowd & the groups, was watching as "PASTIME" and "THE EMERALDS" joined one another for a Street Cornor Serenade.

Relaxing and enjoying a game of checkers on a kettle drum, Eugene Pitt and fellow Jive Five member.

"WHAT TIME IS IT?", To answer the question, it was late, but the crowd did not seem to care as "Eugene Pitt & The Jive Five" entertained late into almost the Midnight Hour.
"I'm A Happy Man"
My singing debut with "Eugene Pitt & The Jive Five"... You Know You Make Me Wanna "SHOUT"!!! See you all on August 17th ... Good Night.
